People

The most important people associated with the Binghamton REU Site will be the student participants, of course. As for those of us running the program...

Binghamton Contacts

Professor Michael J. Lewis is the Director of the Binghamton REU Site, and the point of contact for all inquiries and information.

Watson School Associate Dean Cynthia Sedgwick helped design the program, and will help with some administrative aspects of the Binghamton REU Site.

Dr. Greta Myers is an External Educational Evaluator, associated with the University's Center for Learning and Teaching. She will be involved with assessing the effectiveness of the Program, which will help shape changes and improvements.

Contacts at Partner Institutions

We are very happy to have three different partner institutions, from which we will make a special effort to solicit strong applications and attract students. These schools are Howard University, the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC), and Wellesley College. Contacts at those universities are listed below. Students from Wellesley, UMBC, and Howard should apply directly to our program, but may wish to contact the appropriate individual below to let him know about their applications.

Potential Binghamton Faculty Mentors

A majority of the Binghamton University Computer Science Faculty have active and exciting research programs, and have expressed enthusiasm and interest in working with a student as part of the Summer REU program. (Each student will be paired with one or two CS faculty members, to pursue a self-contained summer-long research project.) Other pages contain more information about the CS Department's Research Areas.
